CAREER CENTER ADVISES SENIORS TO “HANG IN THERE”

Pollard State’s graduating seniors will be entering a job market that is said to be the worst in a decade, reflecting the sluggishness of the economy. “Our state is among the hardest hit,” said Bundy (“Bun”) Carter, the assistant director of the Career Center. “Many of our graduates will be forced to leave for other parts of the country, which may further depress growth here.” Some majors are more “recession-proof” than others, Carter said, citing petroleum engineering as one example.
