These are the final known words written by Jennifer Heyward and Eric Husch in their copy of Ship of Theseus by V.M. Straka.
This begs the question why do we have their copy?
NO WAY I’M EVER LETTING GO OF THIS BOOK.
Eric pronounces these words seriously to Jen in the margins of p76. But if we are to play the role of the reader who stumbles onto their copy of the book and its precious contents, how is it that Eric ever did actually let it go?
Someone pointed out to me once that the last words of the marginalia are crossed out, and that might be an ominous sign. After Eric writes OK, someone crosses that word out. Are Eric & Jen not OK any more?

I guess if we’re to assume that the Real World is “In game” then something has happened to separate Eric and/or Jen from the book. I was gonna say in game we had just chanced to borrow this book from the school library but I guess that’s unlikely given the ending. However, Page 76’s marginal note might have been months before the endgame and even more before the final notes (the story overall seems to assume that all or most notes aside from E’s earliest reading notes were always or usually in chronological order, contrary to the way real students reread texts numerous times with new notes each time) and maybe they felt like they should actually just let the past stay in the past and let other readers encounter the whole story now that they’ve lived the story themselves. Or they suddenly had to leave and flee their home(s) and sadly left this behind…

I recall reading comments by others that felt that the crossed-out “OK” was ominous in tone. But when I read that final line in the book, it didn’t really feel that way to me. “Hey, put the book down. Come in here & stay” suggests that’s exactly what he did. There was no longer a necessary reason to write in the book margins since they are now actually together. That is why he crossed it out because out of habit, he responded in the book instead of going straight to Jen in the next room.
Yet, I do like how ambiguous the ending can be interpreted 👀

I mean as much of a bummer the ominous sign is, I could get on board with that…opens a whole new can of mysterious worms!!

I read on a chinese Straka page that Ship of Theseus may be a Canary Bird of Vévoda/Bad S., to find those interested in Straka and maybe dangerous bc they might contest their power.
There are 19 signs of Vévodas / S. activity up until 1949 remembered in his Noir Wines. There are also 19 Santorini Man murders that end in 1979, and begin again in 2011 for 3 new Sant.M, indicating that exposing people asking too many dangerous questions may be the reason why it is found and circulated.
